BRISTOL BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS
Thinking about hosting your 21st birthday party Bristol? It could be 30th birthday party Bristol or even 40th birthday party Bristol. Whichever, choose FREEDOM to organise a party to remember, suiting all your requirements and guaranteeing a great time for all.
Bristol is widely regarded as one of the best party weekend destinations in the country, partly due to the fact there are around 500 bars and clubs, but also because there is such a huge list of things for groups to do during their visit to the city!
It is the largest city in the south west of England, and has a population of about half a million. Bristol is considered by some to be England’s most attractive large city, with a bustling night scene, a vibrant harbour side and new shopping and entertainment developments popping up all the time.
The city is soaked in history and culture; with lots of museums, galleries and beautiful old buildings there are plenty of points of interest for you to think about when planning your birthday weekend ideas Bristol!
Bristol’s city centre is filled with plenty of shopping, cafes, restaurants and bars to explore. There is also the brand new Cabot Circus with its flagship stores, exciting new restaurants and huge cinema.
The city is also experiencing that café culture. Down by the harbour side there are plenty of waterside cafes and restaurants with great views and atmosphere that are waiting to be explored and enjoyed by your special birthday party Bristol!
The city’s eastside is full of specialist stores selling food, fabrics and crafts of Asian and Caribbean influence. There is also Gloucester Road for an eclectic choice of retro clothes, funky gifts and clothes shops.
The Old City’s grand buildings surround the Corn Exchange and St Nicholas Markets, where there is always plenty of activity, arts and crafts, and markets to stroll through.
If live entertainment is your bag then head over to Colston Hall, Bristol’s largest concert hall and has played host to big names such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. There is always a diverse range of shows and performers lined up to suit any tastes on your Bristol birthday party.
When you are thinking about your Bristol birthday night ideas why not think about Bristol Hippodrome which offers West End and Broadway productions. Alternatively you could head to The Tobacco Factory, housed in a unique building (an old tobacco factory obviously!) the award winning theatre hosts a mix of in-house productions and touring productions from some of the UK’s most dynamic and exciting companies. There is also a trendy industrial style café and bar at the theatre.
Let us give you a little bit of history! Considered one of England’s core cities, it received a royal charter in 1155 and was granted county status in 1373. For half a millennium it was the second or third largest English city, until the rapid rise of Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester during the Industrial Revolution in the latter part of 18th Century.
Much of Bristol’s prosperity was built on its port, which has now moved further out to the Severn Estuary coast to the west of the city. The harbour side and docks were then regenerated into the hub of heritage and culture that they are today. The perfect spot for a Bristol birthday night!
Why not take a walk over The Clifton Suspension Bridge the famous landmark used as a symbol of Bristol. It spans the Avon Gorge linking Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and is now a grade 1 listed building. It has fantastic views, so why not take a drink on the terrace of the Avon Gorge hotel as the sunsets and the bridge lights up.
On your birthday weekend Bristol you may want to explore a little further afield you have the beautiful countryside of Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and of course the beautiful city of Bath.
Somerset with its rural attractions and coastal towns is just south of Bristol and has glorious countryside, home to the famous Cheddar caves and gorge.
Gloucestershire is just north of the city, home to the Severn Vale, the Cotswold Hills and the Thornbury and Berkeley Castles that might be worth a visit during your 30th birthday party Bristol.
Just half an hour away from the Bristol is the city of Bath, steeped in history with its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents set in the rolling Somerset countryside.
